Coming Right Up...

Hello fans (or should I say 'fan'),

If you are reading my stories of this blog and like what you see (or read), please pass this on to story lovers like your friends or family. Spread the word if you please because I am not going to keep this blog up unless people are reading it like they used to. In addition, I am beginning to work on a Volume 3 for this blog. I am thinking about releasing the first story for it in March. Usually, Volumes 1 and 2 have had 12 stories each but for the third volume, I am going to create 20 stories for it. This is a big challenge for me because I am currently working on my writing skills. But I guarantee that Volume 3 will be better than Volumes 1 and 2. It will be more descriptive, funny and alluring. Spoiler alerts for the new volume: someone falls in love, there is a huge fight, interests are taken in school, someone's life changes and a special event comes up.

That is all I have to say and I will see you in late March!

Cabo Wabo (Chapter 5)

The next morning, the girls woke up, all in different moods. They called one another and made a plan to eat breakfast together. They prepared themselves by putting on clothes, brushing their teeth and washing their face. Felicia took them downstairs to the breakfast bar and they took their food outside to one of the outdoor tables. Felicia did not join the girls immediately as she stayed in the bar to flirt with a man she met in a line.

"Your aunt Felicia is going to get her freak on," Andrea opined. "Just saying."

"Oh, don't say that to me," groaned Skye, holding her head. "It paints a picture in my head."

"Those pictures are called thoughts," said Lizzie.

"That party was... something, wasn't it?" asked Debra.

"Yeah, it was interesting," said Skye before taking a sip of orange juice.

"A dude touched my butt so I gave him a titty twister," Lizzie admitted.

"You go, girl," said Madeline. She high-fived Lizzie.

"The girl refused to play good music," said Skye.

"Good music was playing there," Andrea responded.

"You think so because you think you're black and all that. But not one hint of rock music. I was starving for rock music."

"Hey, kids change their taste in music every day," Madeline stated.

"Well, their taste sucks."

"I should've researched how long Gary knew Keeley," said Andrea. "Because if I knew that they had a thing for each other, I would've never gone for it."

"I think it's cute Gary and Keeley are a couple now," admitted Lizzie. "They're good-looking."

"But it's too bad that the good-looking white people can't appreciate a good-looking Latina like me."

"There will be plenty of good-looking white people who will appreciate you," said Madeline. "And don't be so focused on white guys, you racist."

Andrea giggled at her little joke.

"Did you have a good time last night, Maddie?" asked Debra.

"Um, it was okay," Madeline answered.

"Oh, it had to be more than okay," said Lizzie. "You left with Terry and came back with Terry."

"Tell us, Madeline," demanded Andrea. "Do you have Terry fever?"

Madeline chuckled. "He's a good guy. First, I thought he was a weirdo but it turned out he was sweet and cute and gentle."

"We have one more day left," reminded Skye. "You're going to see him tonight?"

"Does an elephant have a trunk?"

"You don't know, Maddie, because everybody knows," Lizzie inquired, unaware that the question was rhetorical.

"Do you think he'll ask for your number?" asked Debra to Madeline.

"No," she answered, "because I'll be getting his number!"

"Oh!" the girls uttered with enthusiasm.

"Girls, we are going to have a great time here in Fake Cabo," Madeline declared. "Because whatever happens in Cabo, stays in Cabo. Am I right, ladies?"

The girls cheered as a response.

"I'm so lucky to have you guys as friends," confessed Lizzie.

"I agree," consented Debra.

Madeline raised her glass of orange juice. "Cheers to one more great night."

The girls raised their glasses. "One more great night!" they all said. They clinked their glasses together, making a couple of them spill the juice on the girls' arms. The girls giggled and put their glasses down. As they cleaned their arms with napkins, they laughed their way to a perfect vacation.

Cabo Wabo (Chapter 4)

Later that night, around seven, the girls gathered in Madeline's suite inside the hotel. After talking about the party they were invited to, Skye decide to go to her aunt's suite and ask her for permission to go. She stopped in front of Felicia with wide eyes as the skin on her face was red and had a few blisters.

"What happened to your face?" Skye asked.

"I had a chemical peel," answered Felicia.

"More like a chemical spill."

"Ha-ha, you're so funny. The redness is supposed to go down and when it does, I'll have fifteen-year-old skin."

"I don't think that should be something you want."

"Are you supposed to chilling with your friends?"

"Yeah but I got to ask you something."

Felicia gasped. "Are you asking me for advice?"

"No. There's a get-together downstairs that me and the girls were invited to. Can we go?"

"Sure."

"You're not going to think about it?"

"It's a get-together and you want to go so who am I to stop you?"

"But you know you can, right?"

"I'm aware of that as I am an adult."

"But there's no adult supervision, just teenagers. So there's a possibility of drugs, alcohol and coital activities."

"Skye, why you got to make things so complicated? Just go to the party and have fun."

"Are you serious right now?"

"Wait, is this your way of inviting me to a teenage party?"

"Ew, no." Skye immediately walked away and left the room, closing the door behind her.

Afterwards, Skye went to Madeline's suite to tell the girls that they can. Excited, they changed their clothes and put on makeup. Before they left, Lizzie grabbed the slip of paper that stated the room number of the gathering. They took the elevator down to the second floor and walked down the hallway to look for the number.

"Here it is," Lizzie found the door.

The girls stopped in front of it as Lizzie rang the doorbell. After a few seconds, the door was opened by Gary with a red cup in his free hand. The girls looked behind him, looking at the twenties of people inside the room.

"Hey, Madeline," he greeted. "And... I'm sorry, I forgot all of your names."

"It's okay," smiled Lizzie. "I find it hard to remember more than two people."

"How did you remember Madeline's name?" asked Andrea.

"Uh, lucky guess?" he replied.

"Madeline!" Terry quickly approached the door, camcorder in his hand.

Madeline almost rolled her eyes but faked a positive attitude. "Hi, Terry," she tried to greet him nicely.

"You remember my name," he smirked while pointing his camera towards Madeline.

"Your name's not that hard to remember."

"Well, don't be vampires," said Gary. "Come on in!"

The girls enter the room with Gary closing the door.

"Vampires don't come in houses?" asked Lizzie to Debra. "How else are they going to stay out of the sunlight?"

Terry followed Madeline with the camera as she walked deeper into the crowd.

"Hey, girls!" greeted Keeley from afar.

The girls waved at her.

"Yo, Gary is hot," Andrea murmured to Debra. "He's a summer day on a skillet of bacon."

"He is sizzling," Debra agreed, "if that's what you were trying to say."

"I'm going to try to hook up with him."

"But what about your 'friend', Hugh?"

"Hugh? More like 'who'. Get it?"

"Yes."

"Okay." Andrea turned around and scanned the room for Gary. "Ah, there he is," she found him. She walked through the crowd of people to talk to Gary.

Skye walked through to the desk with the radio on it. It was playing the hip hop song, "Juicy" by Notorious B.I.G., which Skye was not fond of. She picked up the CD case to read the tracklist.

The brunette standing in front of the table noticed Skye reading the case. "You like Biggy?" she asked.

"No," Skye honestly answered. "Is there anymore CDs?"

"Oh, yeah." The girl opened one of the drawers to the desk. She took out the CDs and read the covers: "There's Tupac, Nas, Diddy..."

"No, no, no."

"Then what do you like to listen to?"

"I like the Beatles."

"Who listens to the Beatles anymore?"

"I just said I still do."

The girl giggled. "You're funny."

"That wasn't a joke. My friend, Debra, listens to them, too."

"I bet she does."

While Skye talked to the brunette, Madeline had a conversation with Keeley.

"I take AP calculus," said Keeley.

"No way, are you good?" asked Madeline.

"A little here and there."

"Here and there? I'm actually kind of good at trigonometry. Get an A every time."

"Wow, what's your secret?"

"My secret is--"

Madeline got distracted when she saw Terry pop up in the corner of her eye with his camcorder.

She tried to continue. "Uh, my secret is lots of research and reading. I look over the examples in my textbook and--"

Terry stood behind Keeley, peeking over her shoulder, filming only Madeline.

"--and I-I take notes and ask several questions about those notes... to my teacher because--"

Madeline was fully distracted by Terry and his camera.

"Keeley, can you leave for a sec?" she asked politely.

"Sure, Madeline," said Keeley before walking away.

Terry waved at Madeline while looking into his camera which focused on her.

"Hi," Madeline said with a bit of frustration in her voice. "What are you doing?"

"I'm recording," responded Terry. "I'm recording memories at the resort and I'm trying not to miss a thing."

"Well, you're missing plenty of things only recording me."

"I'm sorry. Does it bother you?"

"Do owls turn their heads like the girl from the Exorcist?"

"I'm just making a film and I... I found my star."

"Star?" Madeline tucked a ringlet of hair behind her ear.

"If that's not weird. Every movie needs a pretty lady."

Madeline smiled sweetly. "You know, you're kind of cute without the camera." She placed her hand on his camcorder and gingerly pushed it down.

"You want to go somewhere quiet?"

"Bien sur."

"I'm assuming that's Portuguese for 'yes'."

"It's French. But I do know Portuguese."

Terry held Madeline's hand and led through the crowd out of the room.

As Lizzie chatted with Debra, a semi-buff boy in a red T-shirt approached Lizzie and tapped her on the shoulder.

"Hey," he greeted. "You want to dance?"

"Sure, stranger!" she replied.

The boy led Lizzie to the corner of the room and they appropriately danced together to the hip hop music.

Meanwhile, Terry took Madeline downstairs to the pool outside. They took their shoes off and sat down on the edge of the pool, dipping their legs in the water. They conversed as if they were on a romantic date under the stars.

"An actress?" Terry inquired.

"Yep, that's what I want to be," Madeline responded.

"Oh, I definitely see it. You're beautiful and full of life. That's what Hollywood needs."

"Then somebody send them my resume."

They laughed. Terry placed his hand on top of Madeline's. She felt her cheeks blush, making her quietly giggle.

"Why don't you go to Fake Cabo often?" he asked.

"It's too far from where I live. Going there every week would be a pain in the butt."

"No, I understand. But it's so beautiful. The pool, the country club, the fake palm trees."

"I do love the palm trees."

"Can't you convince your parents to move you here so you can go to the school nearby and come to the resort every day--"

"That's a big decision. I can't leave my friends or the rest of my family members. I love it here but I'm not going to give up my life if I love it too hard."

"I get it. Sorry if it felt like I was pressuring you."

"It's okay. You want to see me more often and I also want to see you more often."

"Yeah?"

"Yeah."

The two smiled at each other, deeply looking into each other's eyes. Soon, the eye contact broke when they heard loud voices. They turned their heads, seeing a girl being chased by a boy, obviously playfully. They ran so close to the poolside that their feet pushed Madeline off and into the pool. Terry tried to catch her but ended up falling in the pool with her. They dropped all the way in but they stood up as fast as they could. They had to swim a bit to keep their necks above the water.

"Are you okay?" breathed Terry, wiping his eyes once.

Madeline didn't answer. She just looked into Terry's hypnotizing brown eyes. She swam closer to him and wrapped her hands around his neck. She locked lips with him as they both closed their eyes. Terry embraced Madeline, confidently kissing her back, leading into a long make-out.

While Madeline and Terry had some alone time, Lizzie was still dancing with the unfamiliar boy to a different song from the radio. She stopped when she felt a strange graze on her bottom.

"Did you touch my butt?" she asked.

"No," the boy awkwardly chuckled.

"Oh, okay." She turned her head to see if anyone was behind her; no one was.

Lizzie continued to dance with him as she put her hands on his shoulders. Then she felt something more than a graze. She yelped a bit when she stopped and felt it.

"I touched your butt that time," the boy confessed.

Lizzie's eyebrow scrunched in anger. "Well, you shouldn't. It's my property and I did not give you permission to touch my property."

"Whoa, learn to chill."

"Learn to keep your hands to yourself." She pinched him on the left of his chest.

"Ow!" the boy slapped her hand away. "You twisted my nipple."

"Darn right I did."

Lizzie strutted away with renewed confidence.

As she did, Andrea was in the middle of conversation with Gary, the host.

"Wow, your muscles are big," she remarked. "Do you work out?"

"Yeah, I go to the gym six days a week," Gary said.

"Ooh, I don't go to the gym but I like to stay fit. I do squats; do you like to do squats?"

"Sure but not many boys don't do squats."

"Well, you're not a boy; you're a man."

Once Keeley walked by, Gary grabbed her arm for her attention.

"Hey, where are you going?" he asked.

"I'm going to the bathroom," Keeley answered.

"I forgot to tell you: I got you something." Gary reached for the desk and opened the nearest drawer. He took out a small perwinkle box and handed it to Keeley. "Open it."

Keeley opened the box, revealing a silver charm necklace. She gasped as she picked it up. "It's a necklace."

"A what?" Andrea raised her eyebrow.

"Yeah, I bought it at Zales," said Gary. "I thought I should get you one since you dropped your original necklace in the toilet."

Keeley looked around the necklace. "Aw, and you have my name engraved."

"You have her name what?" Andrea's voice got higher.

"It's beautiful. Thank you, Gary."

She squeezed Gary who hugged her back. Andrea felt awkward when the hug lasted ten seconds. When the two released, they pecked each other on the lips. Andrea's eyes were widened in shock.

"Okay, yeah, so I think I'm gonna leave," Andrea said, pointing over her shoulder with her thumb.

Cabo Wabo (Chapter 3)

Once the ladies arrived at Fake Cabo, they grabbed their luggage and checked into the nearby hotel. They took a while to settle into their hotel suites as Madeline, Lizzie and Andrea had to share one room while Felicia, Skye and Debra shared another. Afterwards, Madeline, Lizzie and Andrea came by the other girls' suite to discuss the plans. After a discussion, the girls agreed to go to the outdoor pool while Felicia decided to go the downstairs spa. So as Felicia left to go downstairs, the girls put on their swimsuits and head for the pool.

Lizzie was the first one to jump in, splashing her friends from her cannonball. She swam up and spit a bit of the water out like a fountain. "So far, I love Fake Cabo," she smiled.

"As so do I," Debra said, sitting on the edge of the pool, burying her legs in the water.

"What I tell ya?" Madeline inquired, walking down the steps inside the pool. "It's the best."

"We've seen nothing yet," said Skye, sitting next to Debra. "But it is nice."

"The pool is so big, a shark could live in here," said Lizzie. "But let's hope for the best because I'm afraid of sharks."

"Why are you so mean to your aunt?" asked Debra to Skye.

"What do you mean?" Skye responded, scrunching her forehead.

"Several months ago, you were mean to her when she took us to Coachella. Now you're still mean to her. What's up with that?"

Skye sighed. "I love my aunt but I do dislike her. That's because she embarrassed me years ago and she has not apologized for it ever since."

"What did she do?" Madeline asked.

"Something that I have to tell you later about."

"Is that code for 'you're not going to tell us'?"

"Yes. But I wish I could get over it so I won't be so hard on her. It's just an impulse. Sorry for my bad behavior."

"Hey, we're going to have fun today so your demeanor will change," said Debra, patting Skye's back.

"Where's Andrea?" Lizzie questioned, turning her head around.

Debra and Madeline looked behind themselves, gazing upon Andrea who was resting on one of the poolside chairs face down.

"Andrea!" called Madeline.

"Hmm?" Andrea muffled.

"What are you doing?"

"I'm getting my tan on," Andrea turned her head to sound more clear.

"You're already tan," noted Skye.

"Well, I'm getting tanner. Gotta look natural tambien."

Madeline turned her head back around and giggled.

Suddenly, a big beach ball hit Lizzie on the top of her head, making her sink down into the water.

Madeline's eyes were the size of golf balls. "Lizzie! Are you drowning?"

"How can she tell us she's drowning if she's underwater?" asked Skye.

"Don't get snippy with me because I'm not your aunt."

Lizzie floated back to the top, holding her head. She gasped for a bite of air. Seconds later, three teenagers, two boys and a girl, trudged through the water towards the girls.

"I'm so sorry," apologized the girl, retrieving the beach ball. "We were playing catch and one of us threw it way too far."

"Was not my fault, Keeley," said one of the boys.

"I'm Keeley. This is Gary and Terry." She pointed at the boys; one of them held a camcorder.

"Are you two brothers?" asked Lizzie.

"No, what made you think that?" responded Gary.

"Your names rhyme."

"Yeah, they do," chuckled Terry, pointing his camcorder at Madeline.

"I'm Lizzie, the girl who almost drowned."

"I'm Debra," she introduced herself.

"I'm Skye," she did the same.

"I'm Madeline," she raised her eyebrow at Terry.

"Nice to meet you all," smiled Keeley. "Do you girls come here often?"

"Oh, no," answered Debra. "But our friend has been here before with her family. It was her idea to bring us here while school was closed."

"Aw, that's sweet of you."

"Well, people do say I'm the sweetest," Madeline boasted.

"I'm sure they do," said Terry.

Madeline turned to him and made a puzzled face.

"What are you guys planning to do tonight?" Keeley questioned.

"We don't know," replied Skye. "We're going to get some food later but we didn't plan ahead."

"Well, Gary here is throwing a party in his suite and we would like to invite you all."

"Yeah, the more, the merrier," added Gary.

"And the merrier, the more," Terry said almost quietly.

Madeline stared at him as he still recorded her on his camera.

"That sounds nice but I have to ask my aunt Felicia," said Skye.

"We should go anyway because she's going to say yes," Lizzie said.

"Yeah, you're right. But still."

"Sounds like a plan," grinned Keeley. "Terry, do you want to give them the little invitations?"

"Uh... sure," Terry answered, not looking at Keeley, still looking at Madeline through his camera.

"You can leave the invitations on our chairs," said Lizzie.

Terry, using one arm, hopped up on the edge of the pool. He spun around to plant his feet on the surface and stood up. He tried to film Madeline for a bit before walking for his chair. When he turned, he almost bumped into Andrea who got up from tanning.

"Hey, guys, what's going on?" she asked, looking at her friends. "Making new friends?"

"Oh, yeah," said Debra. "Guys, this is our friend, Andrea."

"Hi, friend Andrea," said Terry, pointing his camcorder towards Andrea.

Seeing Terry and the shiny camcorder startled Andrea. "What the--?" she said before smacking the camera out of Terry's hands. The camera fell right into the pool next to Madeline.

"Oh, my gosh," Andrea exclaimed. "I'm so sorry. It was just that the light surprised me--"

"It's okay," said Terry. "It's waterproof."

Madeline slammed her fists into the water. "Darn it!" she uttered not too furiously.

Cabo Wabo (Chapter 2)

After school, the girls told their parents about the Cabo resort once they saw them. Luckily, all of their parents gave them permission to go to the resort on Friday. To make sure the parents did not change their minds, Skye made her aunt Felicia, who immediately agreed to being the girls' chaperone, call the girls' parents so they can hear an adult's voice. As the adults' decisions did not change, the girls packed their bags on Thursday night. The next morning, the girls went over Skye's apartment to chill and wait for Felicia to stop by and pick them up. It took approximately forty minutes for Felicia to drive to the building with her premium SUV. She helped the girls put their suitcases in the trunk before driving them all off into the road.

After Felicia drove for ten minutes, the girls decided to sing along to the songs coming from the radio. Felicia was nice enough to let the girls to listen to a radio station of their choice. The girls danced in their seats and sang the songs that they all knew.

You light me up inside
Like the 4th of July
Whenever you're around
I always seem to smile
And people ask me how
Well you're the reason why
I'm dancing in the mirror and singing in the shower

"Hey, girls," started Felicia, "I don't mean to be a party pooper but can I change the station? I know some pretty cool jams we can bust a move to."

"Aunt Felicia, no one says that," said Skye.

"Says what?"

"Everything that you just said."

"I'm just saying, I like these songs, too, but come on. We're going to a resort based from Cabo; we should be getting down up in here. Know what I mean?"

"W-What?"

"I think she said we have to raise the roof," said Lizzie. "I don't speak 'old people talk' but I guess that means to dance and stuff."

"She's right," Felicia smiled. "So, girls...?"

"You can change the station," permitted Madeline. "We insist."

"We don't have to switch the station," reminded Skye.

"Skye, just let your aunt do what she wants," said Andrea. "She's driving us; the least we can do is let her listen to some music."

"Thank you, Andy," said Felicia.

"Don't call her Andy," Skye demanded.

"She can call me Andy," said Andrea.

Skye rolled her eyes and slouched a bit under her seat belt. Felicia, not taking her eyes off the road, turned the knob on the radio. She kept turning until she could tell that she stopped on her favorite station. She nodded to the song that was playing, which was "I Didn't to Turn You On", a pop song by Cherelle.

"Ah, the eighties-to-nineties station?" groaned Skye.

"The eighties and nineties were cool back then," said Felicia.

"But this station barely plays rock."

"You don't listen to rock all the time. Besides, the jams are bumpin'!"

"Who is this song by?" asked Lizzie.

"Cherelle. She was amazing in the eighties. I think you might like her."

"I think she might not," said Skye.

"Oh, give it a rest, Skye," said Madeline. "We should give this music a chance."

During the fifteen minutes that passed, everyone in the car, except for Skye, sang the songs as if they knew them very well. Of course Felicia sang the ones she knew but the girls mostly sang the choruses once they caught along with the songs.
Jump, jump!
The Mac Dad will make ya Jump Jump
The Daddy Mac will make ya Jump Jump
Kris Kross will make ya Jump Jump

Whip it
Whip it real good

If I was your girl
Oh, the things I'd do to you
I'd make you call out my name
I'd ask who it belongs to

After five songs, a heavy metal song started to play from the radio. Skye instantly knew what the song was. Enter Sandman? she thought. She sat up straight and smiled to herself.

"Oh, this one is a classic," she noted.

"I love Metallica," admitted Felicia.

"This guitar solo, though?"

"Oh, it's fantastic."

Felicia and Skye nodded to the drumbeat of the song as they hummed the long guitar solo for the introduction. The girls in the back stared at the relatives blankly with a hint of befuddlement as they did not need to be told that Skye disliked her aunt. So to see Skye actually bond with Felicia was puzzling to the girls, making them not want to sing along anymore.

"We're almost here," said Felicia, slowing down the speed of her car.

"When we stop, can we stay in the car for a while so we can sing this song?" Skye asked.

Felicia smiled from ear to ear. "Of course we can, niecey."

Once the words popped up in the song, the relatives did not hesitate to sing along to them together.

Say your prayers, little one
Don't forget, my son
To include everyone
Tuck you in, warm within
Keep you free from sin
Till the sandman comes

"She's allowed to call her that?" whispered Andrea to Debra.

Cabo Wabo (Chapter 1)

It was a bright and shiny afternoon and lunchtime had started for the quarter of students attending Laguna Beach High School. Madeline was the last one out of the girls to arrive at the cafeteria. She greeted them before sitting down and engaging in conversation.

"Have you heard the news?" she asked.

"What news?" Andrea asked back.

"Is it about that kid who got stuck in the well?" Lizzie informed.

"Kids are still getting stuck in wells?" questioned Skye.

"I don't know. I saw it on TV. It probably wasn't the news."

"Okay," Madeline started, "school has to be closed for a couple of days."

"Why?" asked Skye. "I felt like school just started."

"Because all of the teachers in the Orange County have to go a meeting."

"A meeting?" Debra inquired.

"Yeah, I heard it's super important. I'm still trying to figure out what it is but until Friday, a few schools have to be closed since the teachers won't be there. And our school happens to be one of them."

"Why can't they have the meeting on Saturday?" questioned Skye.

"Because it's supposed to take days. I don't really understand it but that's what's happening. The issue is supposed to be on the news later on television."

"That's amaze-balls that school is closing down this week," Lizzie opined. "Sudden vacation!"

"Well, I hate how school's closing."

"Why?" asked Andrea. "School is the kids' devil."

"We should remember that Maddie is a school freak," stated Skye.

"I'm not a school freak," said Madeline.

"Says the person who thinks the weekends should only be a day."

"What's wrong with having six days of education?"

"Everything."

"Ooh, should we do something while school is closed?" asked Debra.

"We should go to the spa," recommended Lizzie. "Or the movies. Or horseback riding."

"Girls, I have an idea that will blow your socks off," Madeline gasped.

"What is it?" asked Andrea. "Tell us."

"We should go to Cabo!"

The girls fell silent. They either stared at Madeline or made confused faces to themselves.

"Isn't Cabo in Mexico?" asked Skye.

"Isn't that where you're from, Andrea?" asked Lizzie.

"No because I'm from Puerto Rico," answered Andrea, almost angrily. "My mother is from Mexico so I'm fifty percent Mexican."

"Well, that doesn't make any sense to me."

"Guys, I'm not talking about the Cabo in Mexico," said Madeline. "I'm talking about a Cabo here."

"Is that actually true?" asked Debra.

"Yes! Remember that family vacation I had during Christmas break two years ago?"

"Yeah," responded Andrea.

"Well, my parents took me to a place called 'Fake Cabo'."

"'Fake Cabo'?" repeated Skye.

"Yeah, it's a resort with a super fancy hotel with cheap prices. There's a waterpark, a beauty salon and tall palm trees which aren't really a pro but I like them."

"I like the sound of that," said Debra.

"Me, too," Lizzie agreed.

"Fake Cabo is in Orange County but we need someone to drive us there," Madeline notified. "Who would be the perfect chaperone?"

"My aunt Felicia can take us... willingly," Skye insisted, almost hesitant.

"Oh, I love your aunt Fee!" Lizzie shared.

"Don't call her that!"

"Do you think she would be able to take us?" asked Madeline.

"Yeah," answered Skye, "she's able to do anything... willingly."

"Alright, then. Ladies, be sure to tell your parents and ask for permission because we are going to have the best time of our lives."

The girls cheered, throwing their hands in the air.

"And we will have the perfect chaperone," added Lizzie.

"Hey, I wouldn't say 'perfect'," said Skye, "but I would say 'chaperone'."

Meet My Girlfriend (Chapter 5)

The day after, Skye went to school with her friends with confidence. After going through a few classes, Skye went to her physics class unaware of anything. She entered the classroom, spotting her friend, Lee, passing out a stack of papers to the students who entered before her. Once Lee saw Skye, she pressed the papers against her chest.

"Hey, Lee," Skye greeted.

"Hi, Skye," Lee responded. "Hey, that rhymed."

"Yeah. What are you passing out?"

"Oh, nothing."

"It has to be something. Unless you're passing out blank sheets of paper."

"Yeah, that's what I'm doing. I'm just encouraging people to splatter their imagination on this paper. Albert Einstein says imagination is more important than education."

"That's funny because you're passing them out in school."

"Irony: what do we do without it?"

When another student entered the room, Lee quickly handed a piece of paper to the boy and shoved him right after to keep him walking.

"Those papers aren't blank," Skye pointed.

"What?" Lee almost sang. "These papers are so blank."

"Lee, I saw the paper you gave to that guy. It was not blank."

"Skye, are you taking that special medicine because it sounds like you're not."

"The medicine is for my hiccups. Can you give me a sheet of paper?"

"Uh... no can do."

"Why can't do?"

"I bet you already have a piece of copy paper somewhere in your notebook."

"There might be but I don't feel like getting it out. May you spare me one?"

"Um-- Uh-- What?"

"You heard me. Just give me one."

"I don't need to."

Skye gripped onto the stack of papers. "But you can. Just give it."

Lee, not letting go of the stack, wriggled back and forth to loosen Skye's grip, which was not working. "No!" she shouted.

The girls fought over the stack back and forth like a tug of war. They held on for several seconds until Skye's strength increased to where she threw the stack on the ground with several pieces of paper floating in the air. She caught one of the floating papers and sprinted pass Lee as she read it.

"'Skye Carter is a homophobe'?" she recited. She stared at Lee with shock in her eyes. "Why are you passing these out?"

"Because that's what you are!" Lee responded. "A vile homophobe."

"Lee!"

"What? I can't let the whole world know?"

"You put this on the internet?"

"No, not yet. When I meant 'world', I meant 'class'. But still, I'm calling you out for disapproving of my sexuality."

"Lee, I'm not disapproving of your sexuality. I accept the way you are."

"Then why did you reject my kiss?"

"Because I'm not gay! Why can't you accept that?"

"You gave me a... vibe."

"Well, I don't know what's gay about me but the innuendo is not really innuendo! Lee, I have a gay uncle and when I first learned that, I didn't push him away. I still loved him and supported whatever felt right to him. Just because I'm not a lesbian does not make me homophobic. I love everybody. And I was born straight so I plan on not doing anything about it. It's who I am. And the last time I checked, homosexuality is not a choice, it is an identity. I'm not trying to change you so why change me?"

Lee looked down. "I didn't think about it that way."

"Yeah. Also, you're a member of an anti-bullying campaign. And what you're doing..." Skye held up the paper for Lee to see. "...is a promotion of bullying. You're labeling me as something I'm not. I don't treat homosexuals any differently than heterosexuals. Everyone is equal in my eyes and everyone should be equal in your eyes."

"I'm sorry, Skye. It's just that sometimes I feel like the only lesbian in this school. I assumed that was because nobody wants to be gay."

"Of course, when people find out they're gay, some tend to feel uncomfortable about it. But if you accept who you are and want people to accept who you are, you got to accept them."

"You're right. I was bugging."

"It's okay; people bug. And if I was sure I was a lesbian, I'd totally date you. But I'm straight and I'm going to marry Bono."

Lee chuckled. "You're actually serious about that, aren't you?"

"You have no idea."

Quickly after, the physics teacher walked into the classroom once the bell rung. He stopped a couple feet from the doorway when he saw the papers on the floor and quickly read them.

"Skye, is this true?!" he asked, becoming infuriated.

"Oh, boy," Skye said softly to herself.
