Beach Babes (Chapter 5)

"I can't believe you guys," said Skye. "You better call DeMarcus and Calvin and tell them what you were doing."
"No way!" said Madeline. "I didn't do anything wrong."
"Then why can't you tell Calvin anyway?"
"Because he'll think I did something wrong."
"I don't mind telling DeMarcus," said Lizzie. "We tell each other everything. He once told me about the skin tag growing on his butt."
"Gross," Madeline commented.
"Yeah, gross," Skye agreed. "Can you send me a picture?"
Madeline groaned.
When the girls arrived at their blanket, Andrea, in a big floppy hat, approached them.
"Hey, where were you guys?" she asked. "Just because I was tanning doesn't mean you have to leave me."
Skye released the girls and tilted her body. "Andrea, can you turn around for a second?"
"Why?"
"Just turn around."
Andrea rolled her eyes. "Fine."
She turned around so the girls could see her back. They were stunned to see that the entire backside of Andrea was ruddier than her front.
"Skye, if you want to look at my butt, it's okay to ask," said Andrea.
"Andrea, did you remember to flip over while you were tanning?" asked Madeline.
"No, I fell asleep. I'm going to do the front later though. I'm totally tan in the back, huh?"
"Um, define 'tan'," responded Skye.
"What's wrong?"
"Nothing," replied Madeline, shaking her head. "You look like fire. I mean, you look like you're on fire. Yeah, you're on fire."
"This girl is on fire," sang Lizzie.
Andrea turned back around and smiled at her friends.
"So where's Debra?" asked Madeline.
"I don't know," answered Andrea. "I thought she was with you."
"Guys, I think I know where she is," said Skye.
"Where?" asked Madeline.
Skye pointed at the ocean so that's where the girls looked. Although they were far away, they could see a black female standing on a yellow surfboard in the ocean. After taking a better examination of the female, they begin to recognize their friend.
"Debra?" said Lizzie.
The four girls rushed towards the edge of the ocean and got a better look. They joined the crowd of people watching Debra riding a huge wave. She was so focused, looking ahead of herself and not at her feet. Her arms were out and her posture was straight.
Using her feet, she moved the board to and fro inside the high waters. The crowd, including the girls, cheered for her. Then Debra bent down, moving the board straight across. Water was twirling over her wet head.
Finally, the wave crashed down over her and she fell into the water. The crowd fell silent until Debra resurfaced, climbing back on the surfboard. They all cheered as she stood up, regaining her balance, and used the board to float back into dry land. Everyone applauded for her; Debra's friends ran towards her and took turns giving her a hug.
"Debra, what were you doing out there?" asked Madeline.
"Catching some waves, man," answered Debra, picking up the paisley covered surfboard and holding it with one arm.
"That was amazing, Debra!" shared Lizzie.
"Yeah, how are you so good after all these years?" questioned Skye.
"All I had to do was listen for the whoosh-whoosh," Debra replied. "You know? So I just went out there and I heard a whoosh but not the whoosh-whoosh. So I listened for the other noises like the shh-ahh and wha-whirl. And before I knew it, I'm on the board under the shh-wha. And when the water came down on me like baah, I got back up and heard the whoosh-whoosh. Then after that, it was smooth sailing."
The girls stood there and stared at Debra.
"I'm not sure if I got all that," said Skye. "But that was incredible."
"Truly incredible," agreed Andrea.
"Thank you, guys," Debra said with a smile.
"Whose surfboard did you use?" asked Madeline.
"She used mine," said the Magician, stopping by and putting his arm around Debra's shoulders. "The thing about magicians is that they must have an assistant."
Debra looked up at him and smiled. "You got that right," she agreed.
"Oh, great," Skye said, throwing her arms at her sides. "So we're all cheating on our boyfriends? Well, don't I feel like such a newb."
"What did I miss?" asked Andrea.
"In your case, apparently not the sun," responded the Magician.
"Ain't nobody was talking to you, Spicoli."

Embarrassment Town (Chapter 5)

"Thanks for the jacket," Madeline said to the groomsman she was with earlier. "But everyone knows what kind of underwear I wear now so I might as well walk around like that."
"Just be thankful," said the groomsman before walking away.
Madeline tied the sleeves of his blue jacket into a knot so it wouldn't slip off her waist. When she turned around, Cherise was there in her face.
"You're like a ghost," said Madeline.
"I know," said Cherise, crossing her arms. "Are you okay?"
"No." Madeline glanced down. "I have bad luck."
Cherise chuckled. "What?"
"It's not funny."
"You have bad luck?"
"Yeah, ever since I spilled that salt shaker at Cool Beans, my life has been a mess. I tried everything to get rid of my bad luck but nothing has worked. I never thought I would say this but I don't know what to do."
"Hmm, okay. Here." Cherise bent over and pulled up her cream puff of a dress.
"Ew, Auntie!" Madeline blocked her face. "I don't want that!"
"It's not what you think, you dum-dum." Cherise dug into her strappy white high-heeled shoe and pulled out a tiny plant. "I want you to have this."
Madeline took a better look at it. "A four-leaf clover?"
"Yep."
"Why do you have this?"
"When I was around your age, I walked under a ladder and bad things started to rain down on me."
"Ladders do cause problems."
"One day, I found a four-leaf clover in a field of three-leaf clovers. I kept it and good things began to occur. I take it with me wherever I go. Now I want you to have it."
"Oh, Auntie, I don't know if I can accept this."
"It's fine, Madeline. I had my years of good luck. Now I need to live life my way now. You're young; you're supposed to be having fun. If you're gonna have fun, you need good luck. So here." Cherise handed her niece the clover.
"Oh, thank you, Auntie. But what about your marriage?"
"Hey, I'm already married. One day is better than none." Cherise laughed, causing Madeline to laugh.
Suddenly, the women heard a man screaming. They brought their attention to the high stand and saw Simon rolling down the ladder. He landed on his abdomen before holding his own sides. Madeline's groomsman rushed towards him and knelt down.
"Simon, are you okay?" he asked concerned.
"No!" Simon yelled in his old man voice. "My pelvis! I think I broke my pelvis!"
Cherise slowly turned her head and looked at her niece. "Hey, Madeline," she said with an awkward smile through scarlet lips. "Do you think I can have that clover back for a second?"
Madeline began walking away. "I'm sorry," she said. "No givesies backsies."

BBF4E (Chapter 5)

DeMarcus went through Randall's phone, trying to find some songs on his music app. He played a song, which was considered one of Randall's favorites. It was a mournful piece of classical music.
"Really, bro?" DeMarcus asked.
"It soothes me," Randall responded.
He played another song, which was also classical music, this time more gleeful.
"It puts me in a good mood," commented Randall.
"It obviously doesn't work."
DeMarcus played another song, which was baroque pop, heavy with violins.
"More classical music?" he asked.
"That's the Verve."
"Well, the Verve don't cut it. I'm gonna find us a song."
DeMarcus searched up a song and started playing it. He sat the phone down on the dining table. DeMarcus turned up the volume, allowing the guys to hear the electronic hip-hop song.

That girl is a real crowd pleaser
Small world, all her friends know of me
Young bull livin' like an old geezer
Quick release the cash, watch it fall slowly

All the guys danced to the song in their own ways. First, they were dancing by themselves. Then they began dancing together. Some of them were awkward dancers. The rest of them did not care; they were way into the song. Either way, they were all having the times of their lives.
When the song was over, Calvin gestured to Jeffrey. He walked over to him.
"What's up?" Jeffrey asked.
"I want to show you something," Calvin responded.
"I'm not gay, dude."
"Just come here." Calvin grasped Jeffrey's wrist and led him out of the living room into Madeline's room.
Randall sat down at the dining table and picked up one of Kyle's photographs. He looked at Kyle and asked him, "Do you have a pen?"
"Yep," Kyle answered. He reached it his pocket and pulled out a pen. He handed it to Randall.
"Thank you."
"That's the first time I heard you say, 'Thank you'."
"Yeah, shut up." Randall began writing on the photo.
"You know, you're not so bad, Kyle," admitted DeMarcus.
"You're not so bad yourself, DeMarcus," shared Kyle.
"Give me a hug, man." DeMarcus opened his arms with Kyle coming in and embracing him.
Then the door opened. Madeline came in along with the girls whose arms were full of shopping bags. They witnessed what was going on.
"Oh, no, they're killing each other!" Lizzie shouted.
"I'll save you, Kyle!" Debra said, running towards the boys.
She broke up the hug and chopped DeMarcus on his shoulder, knocking him out. He laid on the floor on his back with his arms and legs out.
"Hey, hey, Debra!" said Kyle. "What are you doing?"
"Uh, saving you," responded Debra.
"He wasn't hurting me, Debra. He was hugging me."
"Hugging you? Oh, that's so sweet."
Lizzie walked over to DeMarcus and crouched over him. "Babe?" she said, slapping him on the cheek. He would not wake up. "Babe? Babe? Babe?"
"Babe's dead, Lizzie," said Skye.
"Speaking of dead, I found Sean knocked out outside," mentioned Madeline. "He was actually breathing but do you know what happened to him?"
Kyle's forehead wrinkled. "No, not at all."
"I was thinking about calling an ambulance, but then I was like, 'Nah.'"
"You hit his pressure point, didn't you?" Debra whispered to Kyle.
"Yeah," he whispered back.
"I'm not mad at you."
"You shouldn't. You just did the same thing to DeMarcus."
"Where's Jeffrey?" asked Skye.
He came into the living room, looking way different. He traded his black and white clothing for an all black outfit, involving a leather jacket and boots. He was missing his beanie and his jet black hair was slicked back. Also, his big glasses were replaced with sheer, black sunglasses. Skye dropped her jaw after taking a look at him.
"Oh, my God," Madeline said, rolling her eyes.
"Oh, my God," said Skye, smiling. "You look... different."
"Thanks," Jeffrey said in an Irish accent, walking towards his girlfriend. "I know."
"Lose the accent," demanded Madeline.
"Okay," Jeffrey said in his regular voice.
"Jeffrey, what happened to you?" asked Skye.
"I just thought it was time for a change, you know? I mean, I'm not gonna dress like this every day but I want you to have this."
"Okay. You want to get out of here?"
"Yes, I do."
Skye took Jeffrey by the hand and pulled him out of the condo.
"She's gonna let him touch her titties tonight," said Andrea. "Alright, Randall, you ready to go?"
Randall put the pen down. "Yes, sweetie."
"I love it when you call me sweetie."
"I'm not gonna call you sweetie every day." He got up and walked towards his girlfriend.
"Yes, you are."
"Maybe if I had a black beatle, you wouldn't care."
"What is that supposed to mean?"
Randall walked out the door with Andrea following. Meanwhile, Calvin came back into the living room. He walked towards Madeline when he saw her.
"Hey, babe," he said.
"Hey," she responded.
He looked at DeMarcus, who was still on the floor with Lizzie crouched over him. "What is DeMarcus doing on the floor?"
"Just chilling. What did you do to Jeffrey?"
"Oh, I 'gay-dified' him. It was the least I could do."
"There's nothing gay about Bono."
"I know."
"Besides, you can't be gay because you're with me."
"I know." Calvin pecked Madeline on the lips.
"Guys, I'm gonna take DeMarcus home," said Lizzie, lifting him up. She put his arm around her shoulders and held tightly to his hand. "He loves my driving anyway."
"See you!" said Debra, waving at her.
Lizzie effortlessly dragged DeMarcus' body out of the condo.
"Yeah, I gotta go, too," said Calvin. "They're playing Priscilla, Queen of the Desert on the Indie Channel at five and I can't miss it."
"Hey, dude," called Kyle.
Calvin approached him. Kyle put his hand on the back of Calvin's head and pressed his forehead with his.
"Stay you," Kyle said.
"Thanks, man."
Calvin released himself from Kyle and gave Madeline another kiss. "I'll see you later, okay?"
"Okay," Madeline said with a smile.
Calvin waved at Kyle before leaving. Kyle waved back.
"So, Hillary, I'm just gonna go," he said. "But it was nice staying at your condo for a few hours. It's pretty sweet."
"I know, hobo," said Madeline, putting her hands on her hips.
"Whatever. Let's go, Debbie."
With their arms around each other, Kyle and Debra proceeded to walk out the door.
"See you, Maddie!" said Debra.
Madeline walked over to the table. "See you," she said. "Hey, wait. Wait!"
The couple went out the door anyway.
"Who's gonna clean up all this mess?!"
Madeline looked down at the table and found a strange looking letter. She picked it up and read it to herself.

Dear Madeline,
We accept the fact that we had to sacrifice four hours of our Saturday for not getting along with each other. That was wrong of us. But we think you're crazy to keep us confined in your fancy home so we can get to know one another. We are who we are. In the simplest terms, in the most convenient definitions. But what we found out is that each one of us is a brain and an athlete and a shrinking violet and a metrosexual and a karate-chopping poet. Does that solve the problem?
Sincerely yours,
The Boyfriend Club

Madeline flipped over the letter and laid eyes on an attractive woman in a suggestive fireman uniform holding a fire-hose between her legs. Madeline yelped and dropped the letter.

"I'm so elated that you and the guys are getting along," Debra said to Kyle as they walked towards his car.
"Yeah, it was bound to happen," Kyle said, putting on his sunglasses with one hand.
"Did you try to win them over with your tough-guy facade?"
"A little bit."
"I guess it didn't work, did it?"
"No, it did not."
"Good. You're better when you're sweet."
"Thank you, babe. Ooh, a butterfly." He pointed at the exotic insect in the air.
"Quick, catch it!"
Kyle reached for the butterfly and clenched his fist.

Everybody Loves a Waitress (Chapter 5)

"This condo is pretty sweet, Madeline," commented Lucky. Lizzie was sitting behind her, braiding one side of her red hair.
"Thank you," said Madeline with a smile. "My dad is a sweet buyer."
"Is the trial against Tidbits still going on?" asked Skye.
"Yep, and my dad has a lot of evidence so that place is going down in no time."
"I can't believe that guy was trying to run that restaurant as a brothel at the same time," shared Debra.
"If I knew that was a brothel, I would've never worked there," said Lizzie. "I should've done my research."
"Ya think?" asked Skye.
"I hate how things like prostitution is still encouraged in this world," said Madeline. "I wish everybody grew up making the right choices, not only for them but for the world."
"If one more person becomes an actual whore, half of the human population will succumb to STDs," said Skye.
"And STIs," added Andrea.
"And ABCs," Lizzie added as well.
"I'm just so glad you stopped working there, Lizzie," said Madeline. "It really shows me how mature you've become."
"Thanks, Maddie."
"But even if you still worked there," started Andrea, "we know you would never become any of those girls there."
"Yeah, most of those girls were lifeless. I think some of them were zombies."
"Well, as long as you don't eat brains, we'll still be your friend," said Skye.
"Aw, thanks."
"So, Lucky, did you tell your parents what was going on at Tidbits?" asked Debra.
"Yeah, they were not too happy about it," Lucky answered. "But they're glad that I'm okay and I decided to quit."
"Well, that's good, Lucky."
"They're making me see a gynecologist though."
"Oh."
"Funny how we're all older than Lucky and she had more sex than us," said Skye. "I feel like an old lady."
Lucky giggled.
"I don't want to have sex anyway," shared Lizzie. "It sounds like it hurts."
"Oh, it does," said Lucky, slightly nodding. "Trust me. That's why they say it's important to do it with somebody you love."
"But I don't want to hurt them either."
"It doesn't hurt the guy, Lizzie," clarified Skye. "It will seem like it does but it really doesn't."
"So are you going to look for another job, Lizzie?" Madeline questioned.
"I already did," Lizzie replied.
"Please don't tell me it's at Hooters," said Andrea.
"It's not. It's actually Madeline's old job."
"You're working at the Pink Tee?" asked Madeline.
"Yep."
"I thought Penelope disliked you," Skye said.
"She does, but she needs somebody else working there. Do you know she's the only person there?"
"Yes," Madeline replied. "That's why I stopped working there. It was affecting my popularity."
"Yeah, right," said Skye, rolling her eyes.
"Anyway, it's good that you found another job. A good job."
"Yeah, but I was also thinking about having a job like yours, Maddie," shared Lizzie. "I always wondered what it's like to be a call girl."
Skye snickered before covering her face.
"I'm not a call girl, Lizzie," Madeline defended, feeling offended. "I'm a receptionist."
"What's the difference?" asked Lizzie.
"A receptionist is a person employed to answer the phone in an office and deal with clients," answered Skye. "And a call girl is liquorice that's red in one place."
Madeline laughed, falling into Skye's lap. Skye laughed, too, hugging Madeline by the neck. Andrea looked at Debra, who was shaking her head, and could not help but laugh.
"I don't get it," said Lucky.

I'm Moving Out! (Chapter 5)

Afterwards, Lizzie changed clothes and drove home to take Madeline's advice. She rang the doorbell and waited for someone to answer. Eventually, her father opened the door.
"Lizzie!" he said. "I thought you were dead."
"How could I be dead if half of my stuff were missing?" she asked.
"You got a point there. Come inside."
Lizzie entered. Her mother came out of the kitchen and was face-to-face with her daughter.
"Well, if it isn't the leaver," her mom said.
"Me leaving once makes me a leaver?" Lizzie questioned.
"I don't know. Where were you? I've been worried sick about you."
"You have?"
"Yeah, I was about to file a missing persons report."
"After six days?"
"You don't know my life. Where have you been?"
"I told you: I moved to Madeline's condo."
"Well, I don't know where Madeline's condo is."
"Oh, you should. It's the bomb."
"Does it have a balcony?" asked Lizzie's dad.
"Oh, yeah."
"How big is it?"
"Half the size of Jupiter."
Her dad gasped. "That's a big balcony."
"Joseph, please," said Lizzie's mother. "Elizabeth, why would you move out like that?"
"You know why."
"I don't know why," her father said.
"My mom said that I can't dress how I want because I'm living under her roof."
Her dad laughed. "Marie, it's just clothes."
"I know it's just clothes," his wife said. "That gives her no right to leave."
"Yes, it does. It's clothes."
"Aren't you on my side?"
"I guess I am, aren't I?" He came closer to his wife. "Just gonna move over here."
"Elizabeth, why is it so important for you to change your wardrobe?"
"Because for a long time, I've worn what you wanted me to wear," answered Lizzie. "Now as an adult finding herself, I want to wear what makes me happy. And long skirts and turtleneck sweaters don't make me happy. They make me miserable, especially on a hot day."
"Is that all?"
"No." Lizzie shook her head.
"No?"
"No."
"Why no?"
"Because I don't want to just change my outfit. I want to be treated as an adult. I know I may be a little... difficult but I'm doing the best I can. I know this is your home and I respect that. But this butterfly needs to build its wings. It can't sit in its cocoon forever. It's too hot in the cocoon."
"That's beautiful," her dad commented.
"It is," his wife agreed. "And you know, Dallas has been nonstop crying ever since you left."
"Aw, he has?" Lizzie asked.
Her mother nodded. "Yep. So has your dad."
"What?" he said. "No, Marie, I don't cry."
"Says the crier."
"Crying once doesn't make me a crier."
"I know; it's the total of fifty-six times you've cried. Elizabeth, it would really make me, your dad and your brother happy if you move back in."
"I want to move back in," said Lizzie. "But I can't if there's going to be so many rules."
"Well, guess what? You do as you please. But you still have to go to church on Sundays."
"Deal."
Lizzie's mother smiled. She gave her daughter a long, loving hug. Even Lizzie's father joined in. When they released each other, Lizzie sighed.
"I'm so glad to be back. Now I can do this."
Lizzie took off her tan sweater and brown maxi-skirt, revealing the outfit she had on underneath. She was wearing a pink crop top, which showed a lot of cleavage, and a white miniskirt. Her parents were shocked to see what she was wearing all this time. Their jaws were dropped and their eyes were the size of ping-pong balls.
"It feels so good to be myself around you guys," Lizzie said. "I love you so much." She gave her mother and father a kiss on the cheek.
They then watched their daughter run upstairs without her "good girl" clothes.
"Forgive me, Lord," started her mother, "but I need a drink." She entered the kitchen.
"Forgive me, Lord, too," said Lizzie's dad. "I need a drink as well." He went to the kitchen to join his wife.

Goodbye, School (Chapter 5)

The no-longer-seniors were directed out of the auditorium into the outside. More people gathered, hugging and talking to their best friends. Skye eventually found Madeline and began singing to her.

School's out for the summer
School's out forever

Madeline turned around and grinned at Skye. She squeezed the life out of her.
"Hey, not without me!" said Andrea as she approached the duo.
Madeline motioned for her to come over and hug them. "Ugh, aren't you guys still mad at me?" she asked her friends.
"No way," replied Andrea. "I am an adult now and we need to do good things."
"Like stop beating people up?" Skye guessed.
"Uh, I have to rethink that one."
"Well, I'm glad you guys are not mad at me. I hate it when you guys resent me. I need you in my life."
All of a sudden, Lizzie came zipping towards Madeline in tears and hugged her like she was going away for a while. She cried harder than she did earlier.
"There, there, Lizzie," Madeline said, patting Lizzie's head.
"I see nothing has changed after graduation," said Debra after coming up.
Lizzie let go of Madeline to hug Debra.
"I can't believe we aren't high school students anymore," shared Skye.
"I know," said Madeline. "I loved school."
"Of course, you did, Margaret Thatcher."
Madeline cocked her head and pursed her lips. "School was like a refuge to me. Like, what is us without school?"
"She's got a point," agreed Debra, still holding Lizzie.
"You guys, I want to go to college but I'm not ready to lose you. That's why, on this day forth, we are going to have the best summer ever. No out's."
"What if I got to go to summer camp?" asked Andrea.
"No out's, Andrea. And you would die at summer camp."
    "I'm all in," smiled Debra.
    "Me, too," Lizzie blubbered.
"Hey, I got nothing better to do," said Skye.
    "Aw!" uttered Madeline. "Group hug!"
The girls gathered and embraced each other. Lizzie was still crying.
"Ugh, Lizzie, calm down," Madeline commanded. "You're going to get snot on my gown."
"It's not like you're gonna wear it again," mentioned Skye.

Time to Shave Your Legs (Part 2) (Chapter 5)

Skye walked upstairs after using the bathroom for a few minutes. She remembered leaving Jeffrey in the ballroom so that's where she headed back to. She looked around for her date until she saw him hanging around with the Cow Belles. They had their hair done in curls. Pamela had on a sexy, long-sleeved, lacy, black chiffon dress with white heels. Mauricia had on the same dress, except it was white and her heels were black. Skye instantly felt mad and marched right over to them.
"Oh, Jeffrey, that's so funny," Pamela told him in a seductive voice. "Tell me again." She caressed his shoulder.
Skye cleared her throat loudly.
"Oh, hi, Skye," said Maurica, putting her hands on her hips. "We didn't see you there."
"That's probably because you're short," added Pamela.
"Like a mouse."
"And you have the teeth of a mouse, too. Tch-tch-tch!"
"Real mature," said Skye. "What are you doing with my date?"
"Your date?" asked Mauricia. "I thought you two were broken up."
"We are," clarified Jeffrey.
"And we're friends now," added Skye. "We just decided to go here together."
"Oh, why on Earth would you want to go with Skye?" asked Pamela.
"She's so ick," said Mauricia. "But you, you're slick."
"Skye, doesn't he look better without his glasses?"
"He's a totally hottie for sure."
"Good to know," said Skye. "Can you stop molesting him?"
"Uh, Jeffrey's not telling us to stop," Pamela said.
"I think he likes it when we touch him," said Mauricia.
"But he's my date," Skye mentioned. "I should be the one who gets to touch him."
"Ooh, I don't think Jeffrey would like that," purred Pamela.
"I don't care. Just give him to me!"
"Calm down, Emo Thurman," ordered Mauricia. "We're all single, trying to mingle."
"But if you don't stop mingling, I will cut both of your arms off."
"You're crazy," Pamela commented.
"You're darn right I'm crazy. I own about forty machetes. You can stop by my house sometime and help me pick one to cut your arms off with."
"Skye, you need to relax," commanded Jeffrey.
"Was I talking to you, Rico Suave?"
"Hey, Jeff, after this thing is over, why don't we come over my house and start our own party?" asked Mauricia.
"Mauricia, please, he's mine," said Pamela.
"No, he's mine."
"He's none of ya's!" snapped Skye. "So I suggest you beat it 'fore I beat you."
"Skye--" Jeffrey started.
"I'm crazy."
"Skye, that's enough."
"Let's go, Mauricia," said Pamela. "We'll come back when Jeffrey puts his dog back into its cage."
"Ha-ha!" uttered Skye with a glower. "Hilarious!"
Pamela interlocked her arm with Mauricia's arm before the two walked away together.
"What is your problem?" asked Jeffrey. "I was having a conversation."
"Yeah, with the Cow Belles," said Skye. "You know that I hate them."
"But you never said I couldn't talk to them."
"Why would you need to talk to other girls? I'm your date."
"Skye, I'm starting to think you're coming off as a bit jealous."
"Jealous? I'm not jealous."
"I think you are."
"Screw you! You're jealous!" Skye marched off, causing Jeffrey to throw up his hands in confusion.

Meanwhile, Madeline went back into the ballroom and looked for Calvin. It was not that hard for her to find him because he was standing by the snack table again. He was facing it, drinking punch, acting anti-social. Madeline relaxed her shoulders and made her way toward Calvin.
"I thought you didn't like the punch," she told him, crossing her arms.
Calvin looked at her. "Well, I'd gotten used to it."
Madeline glanced down. "Did you happen to see me with Brody?"
"What, the guy with the amazing curly hair, soft skin and lips like a pillow? Nope, I don't think so."
"Listen, Lizzie told me how you feel about me."
"So what? You feel bad for me?"
"No, Calvin. I--"
"I know I'm not your type." He faced Madeline. "I know you think of me as a brother. But don't act like you never knew. There's a possible chance you didn't but something inside of you had to tell you that maybe I liked you more than a friend."
"Calvin, I'm not as smart as you think I am. Sometimes, I make stupid decisions. But I'm a young woman; it's completely normal of me. However, the last thing I ever wanted to do was to hurt you."
"You did it anyway so now what?"
Madeline smiled. "We dance."
"This isn't Footloose, Madeline."
"Just come on." Madeline took the cup from Calvin's hands and placed it on the table. She then dragged him into the dance floor.

All of the dancing teens calmed down when a slow song started to play. It was an old, pop song called "Collide", produced of guitars and violins. The people with dates embraced each other and started swaying on the dance floor. Andrea got a hold of Randall and slow-danced with him on the floor.
"Watch my hips," she told him.
"I'm not touching your hips," Randall spat.
"Well, it felt like it."
"You're delusional."
Andrea sighed. "So, Randall, I would like to say thank you for backing me up earlier."
"I wasn't backing you up. I was just stating the obvious."
"Well, thank you anyway."
"There's nothing to thank me for."
"You are so ungrateful."
"You're accusing me of something I didn't do!"
"Wait! Wait. Why are we arguing?"
"That's a dumb question. We always argue."
"I know! It's just that I asked you to the prom and you said yes. So we obviously like each other."
Randall stuttered. "I, uh-- I don't suppose-- Uh..."
"Randall, it's fine. I like you, okay? And I don't want to spend the rest of my life arguing with you. I want us to give this a chance."
"What's this?"
"Something more than a friendship... even though we weren't really ever friends."
"Why do you like me?"
"Because you're smart, fearless, and kinda arrogant. You're just like me, only smaller and white."
"But I'm not really a 'dream guy'. I don't fit the definition of a 'stud'."
"That's okay. I don't want a 'stud'. I want you. I know it sounds crazy and cliche, but whatever I was finding, I found you... for some reason."
"Andrea, I like you, too. Ugh! But I never been in a relationship. I don't know how to be a boyfriend. Chances are I'm not good at it."
"Well, you'll never know if you don't try."
Randall smiled. That made Andrea feel weird because she felt like she had never seen Randall smile ever. It truly warmed her heart. It even tempted her to kiss Randall's smiling lips.

"What is this?" Calvin asked Madeline.
"Your prom," she answered.
"I think it's our prom."
"No, it's your prom. I promise."
"Funny. Listen, Madeline, you don't have to pretend that you like me--"
"I'm not pretending. I don't even like Brody. Every time I liked a guy, it was always the same feeling. But when I'm with you, I feel different. It's a... good different. Maybe that's how I should feel every day."
Calvin slightly smiled."Madeline, if Lizzie told you that I loved you, you don't have to feel the same way. I just wanted you to know that."
"Listen, I don't know what love truly feels like but if it explains the way I feel around you, then that's a good thing."
Calvin's crooked smile turned into a grin. It made Madeline grin. They both leaned towards each other and had their very first kiss.

"You were so jealous," Jeffrey said to Skye.
"I was not jealous!" Skye snapped.
"You were."
"Oh, my God. You're so annoying."
"Why can't you admit it?"
"Because it wouldn't make sense."
"Why wouldn't it make sense?"
Skye sighed. "I broke up with you, thinking it would be better if we were friends. But I can't look at you as a friend. It's... bogus."
"Strong word."
"I shouldn't be jealous, okay?"
"I would feel sad if you didn't."
"Jeffrey, we're not together. And I regret that we're not together because it means losing you."
"You're not going to lose me. Don't say that."
"But you deserve so much more than what I could've given you."
"What if I don't want more?"
"Jeffrey, you deserve a girl who cares about you."
"So you didn't care about me?"
"No, I cared about you. I still do. I care about you more than any other girl you know, including your mother."
"You care about me more than my mom?"
"Yes, Jeffrey. Don't tell her that though."
"Cross my heart."
"I just don't want to hurt you."
"I'm not hurt, Skye. That's the problem."
"You don't have to lie to me, Jeffrey." Her voice grew quiet.
"I'm not. You're not hurting me and I want to be with you. The only thing that could hurt me is if you don't tell me the truth."
A tear rolled down Skye's cheek. Her voice began to break up. "I love you, Jeffrey. I really do."
"And you know I've always loved you."
Skye grabbed Jeffrey's face and began kissing him passionately.
At that moment, Lizzie began kissing DeMarcus and Debra started kissing Kyle. Everyone seemed to be in love. Maybe it was the music. Maybe it was the dancing. Whatever it was, it felt pretty good.

Time to Shave Your Legs (Part 1) (Chapter 5)

A week had gone by and Madeline still did not have a date for the prom. She tried to ask out every guy she ever had a connection with. However, they either rejected her or ignored her. The list of guys she knew was decreasing faster and faster. So she decided to ask the one guy she did not want to ask: Sean Hemingway.
She drove over to his house slowly with hesitation. When she parked right out front, she stared at his house and gulped. She turned off her car and began sliding out. She walked right up to his door and rang the doorbell. As she waited, Madeline fixed her golden locks and straightened out her light pink sweater.
Soon, Sean opened the door wide open. "Hey, Madeline," he greeted her. He didn't seem that excited.
"Hey, stud," Madeline responded. "I mean, Sean." She twirled a lock of her hair.
"How did you know where I lived?"
"Well, since you knew where I lived, I figured I should know where you lived. So I asked Skye for your address and she was more than happy to give it to me."
"Okay."
"So remember when you asked me to the prom and I said no?"
"Yeah."
"Well, I was wrong. I meant yes. I would be super glad if you took me to the prom."
"Oh, Madeline, I've been waiting for this moment practically my entire life. But I can't."
"Okay, since the prom starts at seven, I'm going to need you to pick me up at six thirty. My dress is definitely going to be a pastel color so you should try--"
"Madeline, I said I can't take you to the prom."
Madeline chuckled. "Of course, you can. You love me."
"Yeah, but I met someone else. And I'm going to take them to the prom."
"Boy, stop lying."
"No, I can prove it to you. She's here right now." Sean leaned back, looking into the hall. "Babe?" he called.
Madeline slowly grew anxious as she realized that Sean actually did have a date. She became a bit agitated when Sean's date stood next to him in front of the doorway.
"Hey, Madeline," said Chrissy, Madeline's friend from debate club.
"Chrissy, what are you doing here?" Madeline asked.
"She's my prom date and my new special friend," answered Sean, putting his arm around Chrissy.
Madeline began to stutter. "W-What?"
"That's right," said Chrissy. "Me and Sean are going out." She twinkled at him.
The look on Madeline's face was not a pleased one. She was officially angry. "You've been chasing me since freshman year. You ask me out almost every day and every time, I tell you no. Now, since senior year is almost up, the first thing you want to do is move on?!"
"Madeline, calm down," Chrissy commanded.
"You calm down. He's only with you because you remind him of me."
"That's not true," said Sean. "You just happen to be beautiful, smart, driven women. But you two are still different."
"How? Because I'm blonde and she's brunette? Gentlemen prefer blondes, remember?"
"Look, you didn't want to go with me to the prom so I found somebody else."
"But I do now! Chrissy, how could you do this to me?"
"Do what?" asked Chrissy. "You always complain about Sean in debate club. When I got to know him, he was really sweet and genuine. Sorry I got dibs."
"You are such a ho."
"I'm the ho? You're the ho!"
"No, you're the ho, ho!"
Madeline and Chrissy began pointing fingers at each other. When they moved closer towards one another while arguing, Sean stood in-between them and pushed Chrissy back.
"Girls, don't fight over me," he demanded.
"I am never a ho," Chrissy shouted. "You're the one who's a ho. I saw the contact list on your phone. You know, like, thirty Allan's."
"Girls, it's over. Come on, babe. Let's finish watching Sixteen Candles."
"Okay. Bye, Madeline."
"Don't you 'bye' me!" said Madeline.
Sean closed the door.
"You better not show your face at debate club tomorrow!" Madeline turned around and walked away, almost tearing up. On her way to her car, she was stopped by some person.
"Hi, Madeline," said Calvin. "Are you crying?"
"No," she said, sniffling. "I was about to."
"Well, what's wrong? Tell me."
"Wait, what are you doing here?"
"I live here."
"You live here? Next to Sean?"
"Yeah."
"Oh, man! So if I was to come to your house, Sean would've been right next door? Gosh, I almost feel violated."
"Why are you upset?"
Madeline's voice broke. "All I want is a date to the prom. I know it sounds stupid but I remember loving prom last year and I just want someone to share that love with. Of course I could be with my friends but they all got dates. I just don't understand why I'm not approachable. I'm Madeline Louise King!"
"I know."
"Nobody wants to go with me. Brody is taking some Swedish chick; Jackson is with Priya; Homer won't even talk to me; I called Terry and he says he has a girlfriend; Sean decided that he wants to take out a clone of me. It's completely outrageous. I can't believe there's nobody who likes me."
"I like you."
"Oh, it's not enough. You know, maybe I should propose to celebrities like some kids do on the internet. Maybe I could ask out Channing Tatum."
"Channing Tatum is married."
"That doesn't mean he can't have any fun. Oh, what's the use? If no guy at school wants to be with me, why would a hot celebrity want to?"
"Madeline, do you really want a prom date that bad?"
"So badly, Calvin."
"Then go with me."
"Huh?" Madeline wiped her nose.
"I don't have a date to the prom. You can go with me."
"But I thought you like-- Oh, it doesn't matter. You know, I need to take what I can get. Thank you, Calvin. Thank you so much. You are such a good friend."
Madeline gave Calvin a short hug before running away to her car.
"Yep," Calvin said to himself, nodding. "Good... friend. That's... what I am." He chuckled but quickly put on a straight face.

Not Meant to Sit on Babies (Chapter 5)

Still unsure what to do about Dallas' weeping, Lizzie laid him down in his crib. She told Debra that she and her brother had to be gone before her parents arrived. Therefore, Debra let Leroy know and the two were on their way out.
"Thank you for coming over, Debbie," said Lizzie, following her friend towards the door. "I really appreciate it."
"Hey, that's what friends are for," smiled Debra.
"Baby stuff?"
"Baby stuff."
"Ugh, Debra," whined Leroy. "I don't want to ride the tandem bike."
"Do you want to walk home?"
"No."
"Then you're getting on the bike."
"Ugh! Fine."
"Are you sure you don't want me to stay a bit longer?" Debra asked Lizzie.
"No," answered Lizzie. "My parents said that they would be here by nine. They also said to put Dallas to sleep by eight but it's past eight. So I don't want you to be here when my parents do what Abraham did and murder me."
"They're not going to murder you."
"You're right. They'll probably poison me in my sleep."
"Well, I pray that you don't get into trouble, Lizzie. So I might as well get going."
"Good night, Debra."
Debra opened the door. "Good night, Lizzie." She walked out.
"Good night, honeycakes," said Leroy before walking out.
"Bye, Leroy," Lizzie giggled.
Debra tugged Leroy by the ear before Lizzie closed the door. She sighed before walking up the stairs. She made her way to Dallas' room, speaking softly.
"Look, Dallas, I love you very much but you need to go to sleep. I know you don't really sleep after eight, but please do so for me. I don't know why you're crying and I feel like a bad sister for not knowing what's wrong with you. However, I would appreciate it if you stop and get some shut-eye. That means to shut your eyes."
Lizzie entered the room and caught Dallas still in his crib with his eyes closed. He was very quiet. She leaned over the crib to make sure she was seeing him correctly.
"Dallas, are you alive?" she asked.
He was softly snoring, his chest moving up and down.
"Oh, thank God." Lizzie put her hand on her chest. She then picked up the blanket in the corner of the crib and flattened it out over Dallas' body.
Lizzie later heard the door from downstairs opening and her parents chattering. She didn't want to look guilty of any sort so she ran over to the bookshelf and grabbed a random book. She sat down in front of Dallas' crib and opened the book. Her parents walked into the open door of the room and caught Lizzie reading the book in her hands.
"And then the prince and the princess lived happily ever after," she uttered. She closed the book and looked up at her parents. "Oh, hey, mom and dad," she said softly. "I was just reading Dallas a long story."
"I can see," Lizzie's mother said, walking further into the room.
Lizzie stood up and hid the book behind her back.
Her mother peeked into the crib. "Was Dallas any trouble?" she asked.
"Oh, not at all," Lizzie answered, shaking her head. "We had tons of fun. We played around; it was good. I fed him and changed his diaper. It was easy, breezy, beautiful Cover Girl."
"Well, I'm glad that you handled everything, Lizzie."
Lizzie's father put his arm around his wife. "Yeah, I'm so proud of you," he said. "Maybe you should babysit more often."
Lizzie giggled. "Oh, you don't have to."
"No, I insist."
Lizzie frowned. "Well, don't."
"Okay... Well, I guess we should let our little boy sleep."
"I know I need some shut-eye," shared Lizzie's mom.
"Then let's go shut our eyes," suggested Lizzie.
Her parents smiled at her before walking out of the room. Lizzie slowly began exiting the room. When she was at the door, she turned around and whispered, "Good night, Dallas". She turned off the light and closed the door. As she walked through the hallway, she muttered to herself, "Now where are my car keys?"

The Skye is Falling (Part 2) (Chapter 5)

The next day, the girls were in the cafeteria, having lunch just like any other day at school. They were a bit sad that Skye was avoiding them but they somehow knew that she would come back. They were not sure when but they never gave up their thought. Besides, they were not wrong as Skye approached the table with a tray of food.
"Hey, guys," she said, catching their attention.
"You can't sit with us!" Lizzie spat.
"It's okay, Lizzie," said Madeline.
"Sorry."
"Is it alright if I sit here?" asked Skye.
"Why wouldn't it?" questioned Madeline. "You've always sat here."
"Right." Skye walked around the table and sat down at her usual spot, which was right next to Lizzie.
"Are you and Dom over?" asked Debra.
"Yeah." Skye played with the food on her tray with her spork.
"Do you want to talk about it?" asked Andrea.
"No."
"Are you gonna put the pink streak back in your hair?" asked Lizzie, noticing that Skye's hair was still black.
She snickered. "Yeah."
"Is there anything you would like to say to us?" asked Madeline.
"Yeah." Skye dropped her spork on her tray. "I wanna say that I'm sorry for yelling at you guys earlier. I didn't mean to call you the names I said. You guys were right; I was changing myself for Dom. However, it was my decision because I've been wanting to date somebody who was different from Jeffrey. I did and since that didn't work out, I have no excuse to act so catty. I really liked Dom and I lost myself a little bit. Maybe he was the one for me, maybe he wasn't. But whatever the case, I don't want him anymore and I don't need him. I need you guys and I didn't mean to make you all feel bad."
"Aw!" uttered Madeline.
"Zip it."
"We're glad to have you back, Skye."
"Me, too."
"You don't have to answer this but do you think you're gonna get back with Jeffrey?" questioned Debra.
"I don't know. I'm pretty sure that he hates me so I don't think he would want to talk to me."
"He doesn't hate you."
"Why wouldn't he? I left him for someone else. If he did that to me, I would hate him."
"Well, he doesn't hate you," said Madeline. "He actually came up to us one day."
"He did? What did he say?"
"He just asked us how you were doing. We told him that you were being a huge cow and a bunch of other words that weren't nice."
"I forgive you."
"But after that, we just said that you were suffering from a loss of identity. Jeffrey understood that and I could see in his face that the last time you guys talked wasn't going to be the last time."
"'Suffering from a loss of identity'? Who are you, Doctor Oz?"
"Um, I'm pretty much finer than Doctor Oz, okay?"
"Well, at least there's still hope for us."
"So you would get back together with him?" asked Debra.
"I don't know. I don't exactly love him. I don't mind being his friend."
"That's so sweet," Lizzie said.
"Well, it's a good thing that we have you back," commented Andrea. "I thought I had to pop you right in the mouth to correct you."
"Well... I'm glad you didn't," Skye admitted.
"Me, too. I hate having to hurt my friends."
"That is such a lie!" said Madeline.
"You wanna say that again?" Andrea balled her hand into a fist and waved it in front of Madeline's face.
"No, senorita."
"I thought so."
Debra reached over and, with one hand, slowly unraveled Andrea's fist. Skye couldn't help but burst into laughter. She buried her head into her arms on the table and began cracking up. Seeing her laugh made the other girls want to laugh.
"What's so funny?" asked Andrea, giggling.
Skye sat up straight. "Nothing," she said, wiping her left bottom eyelid.
"Now since you're back," started Madeline, "you can change back your wardrobe, your room and take down that poster of that sweaty guy."
        "That's Dean Ambrose," said Skye.
        "Well, he's gross, Skye."
"I actually like him," Skye muttered.

The Skye is Falling (Part 1) (Chapter 5)

"Jeffrey, we need to break up," Skye spilled.
Jeffrey scrunched his forehead. "What?"
"We need to break up."
Jeffrey awkwardly chuckled. "Are you serious?"
"Is there another way to break up with you seriously?"
Jeffrey lost his smile. One could look into his eyes through his big glasses and tell that he was crushed. "You're breaking up with me?"
"Yeah. But don't worry; it's not you, it's me."
"How so?"
"Well, I don't love you the way you love me."
"You don't love me?"
"Is that really much of a surprise?"
"Not really but I didn't think you would ever admit it."
"Me, neither but last night, I realized that I couldn't be with you if I didn't love you back."
"Skye, it's okay if you don't love me. I know you care about me and that's all I want from you."
"Is it, Jeffrey? Is it?"
No sound came out of Jeffrey's mouth.
"Look, you deserve a girl who's gonna love you back. I'm just not that type of girl."
"But I love you, Skye."
"Stop saying that! Don't say that to me when you know I can't say it to you."
"But... it's true."
"I know it's true. I'm very aware of that. I just can't be around that truth. I'm doing it for your own good, Jeffrey. So no if's, and's, or but's, I'm breaking up with you."
Jeffrey sighed and looked up at the fluorescent-lighted ceiling. "Okay."
"If it will make you feel better, you can tell your friends that you broke up with me."
"No, it's fine. I have nothing to hide."
"I'm so glad that you understand. I guess this is goodbye."
"I guess."
Skye turned around and walked away without looking back at Jeffrey. He soon turned around and walked the other way. As Skye was about to exit the hall, Dom came out of corner and was surprised to see her.
"Hey, you!" he smiled.
"Hey, Dom," Skye smiled back.
Jeffrey heard the commotion and stopped walking. He turned around and saw Dom put his arm around Skye's shoulders.
"So I know something that'll make you happy," said Dom.
"What?" Skye asked.
"I got two tickets to see Twenty One Pilots."
"Oh! I love that band."
"Who doesn't?"
As the couple walked away together, they started singing:

I'm falling so I'm taking my time
On my ri-i-ide
Oh-whoa-oh

Jeffrey watched the couple disappear from the hallway in shock and disbelief. He shook his head and continued walking the other way. How could he have let the one he loved go into someone else's arms?

Girls Like Enemies (Chapter 5)

The following day, Mr. Emerson told the students to finish the projects on organic chemistry. Randall did most of the work for the project for almost fifteen minutes. Andrea was too depressed to do anything. She knew that Randall loathed her but she was bothered that Randall wasn't going to stop loathing her. There was nothing for her to do since everything she did upset him. Randall began to notice Andrea's lack of provision.
"Andrea, aren't you going to do something?" he asked.
"No," Andrea moaned.
"Why not?"
"'Cause nothing I ever do pleases you."
"But it would be nice if you help me."
"Nice?" She stood up straight from her slouching state. "I've tried to be nice to you but you, for some reason, won't reciprocate."
"It's not my job to reciprocate."
"But don't you have any manners? Like, you can't appreciate anything, even the smallest things. I can't work with you anymore."
"Oh, please, we've tried that already. It didn't work."
"Who cares? I can't work with you anymore. Look, your 'girlfriend', Leslie, is back so you can go ahead and work with her. She's practically the only person who doesn't irritate you anyway."
"She irritates me a little bit."
"It doesn't matter. You two are smart so you work better together. I'm just some dumb, violent girl who doesn't know how to do anything."
"That's nonsense. It's not like you're handicapped or anything."
"But if I was, you'd still treat me the same. So why don't go and work with Leslie so you don't have to look at my dumb, ugly face ever again?"
"I should if you're gonna act all suicidal about it."
"Randall, you called me an idiot and ugly so it's not like I'm talking crazy. I'm just done trying to make you not hate me."
"Andrea, I-- Listen, I know we don't get along well. To be honest, you do have your dumb moments but you're not dumb at all. You're actually smart, just not as smart as me."
"Are you trying to make me feel better?"
"Be quiet. Anyway, I don't hate you. I dislike you but I can never hate you. It's not like you're a terrorist or anything. You just got flaws. But so do I. I'm not perfect; I have temper problems for crying out loud. So the reason we don't get along is because of me. When I met you, you were nice but I wasn't. I apologize for that. I would also like to apologize for calling you 'ugly'. You are a beautiful woman and maybe I said that out of anger. But just because I call you names and whatnot does not mean that I mean them."
"You think I'm beautiful?" Andrea slowly smiled.
"Yes. Wait, what? No. I mean yes but... You know what I mean."
"Yeah, I do."
"So can we go back to work... please?"
"Of course."
"Thank you."
Andrea reached for the instructions and grabbed them to read them as Randall used a pipette to drip its contents into a small glass beaker.
"So are we, like, friends now?" Andrea asked.
Randall scoffed. "I'm not gonna go to your quinceaƱera or anything."
"I already had my quinceaƱera."
"Look, I don't know what Spanish people do."
"Hey, screw you, Alison Hannigan!"
"Shut up, you messed-up looking Ricky Martin!"
"Okay, we're back to normal."

Jealousy is a Strong Word (Chapter 5)

After the strange fight between Andrea and Leslie, Leslie was sent to the nurse and was requested to stay home to rest. Since Andrea was responsible for her injuries, she was told to serve morning detention every day for two weeks. Even though Andrea was unhappy with the news, she saw it coming.
The next day, after attending detention, Andrea initiated in her school schedule just like everyone else. She went to AP chemistry, having to get stung by some of the eyes who witnessed the fight the day before. When the class began, the teacher told everyone to finish their projects. So the students went to their assigned counters with their assigned partners. After speaking to the teacher, Kienne approached Andrea, who was waiting for her.
"Hey... Andrea, right?"
"Yeah," Andrea said, cocking her head.
"Okay. So don't get mad but I asked Mr. Emerson if I could work with a different group so it could be a group of three and he agreed."
"Why would you ask to work with other people?"
"Because you kinda scare me a bit and I don't need that type of pressure, you know?"
"I guess that's understandable. You should work with somebody harmless and somebody who has a name you will remember for more than two weeks."
"Thanks a lot. And sorry about your hand."
Andrea looked down at her right hand which was bandaged. "Oh, it's okay. It's not the first time I burned myself during a project-gone-wrong."
"If your hand ever aches, you should rub lettuce on it."
"Rub lettuce on it?"
"Yeah, I heard it soothes the pain."
"I don't think that will work."
"Yeah, me, neither."
"Then why did you--"
"You know, they say aspirin gets rid of aches. Maybe you should rub aspirin on your hand."
"Kienne, when you talk, do you hear yourself? Because I can tell that you're aware that you're talking; I don't think that you are actually listening though."
"I don't know. So I guess I'll see you later, Angie."
Kienne walked away to whatever counter she had to be at. While Kienne wasn't looking, Andrea threw air punches out of frustration. Eventually, Randall was next to approach her.
"What do you want?" Andrea asked.
"You should know," said Randall. "We have to finish the project."
"We?"
"Yes, we. So can you quit stalling? Because of you, my partner is at home, recovering from your gigantic elephant stomps."
"I did not stomp on her. I whacked her with a stick."
"You know what I'm trying to say."
"Do I?"
"Listen, I'm not gonna work by myself and there's no one else to work with."
"You could've worked with Kienne but she's kinda dumb."
"I know. I guess I'll take what I can get."
"What is that supposed to mean?"
"Don't start, okay? I do not want to be where Leslie is right now. Where she is right now is totally without reason anyway."
"Hey, I had a reason. She uttered a racial slur at me. I oughta call Johnnie Cochran on her."
"What?"
"I don't know. The point is I did what I did for a reason."
"I can't believe I'm stuck with you again."
"Hey, don't act like this is the worst day ever. I'm the one who has to wake up earlier than I'm used to in order to go to detention, which I have to go to for a fortnight. That's right, I said 'fortnight'. I also have to wear this bandage on my hand for God knows how long."
Randall raised his hand, showing the bandage which he did not remove. "So do I."
"Hey, we can be bandage buddies."
"Don't get corny."
"Bro, I will smack the corn out of you."
"Go ahead! But I know you'll not because it's just your usual empty threat. But whether you do anything or not, go ahead. I'm not afraid of you."
"That's why I like you," Andrea muttered.
"What?"
"I said that's why I'm gonna smack you... until corn falls out."
